Approx. 650g of dry Coir
Expands to create 9 litres of mushroom substrate!
How to use
It’s unneccessary to add anything else to Coir (such as Vermiculite or Gypsum), however you can if you want.
Calculate the amount of water to add by multiplying the dry weight by 5.
Want to use Vermiculite and Gypsum?
In a large bucket; add 2 litres of fine vermiculite, 100g gypsum and around 4 litres of boiling water to make a common bulk substrate

Clean products are what we specialise in, it’s our bread and butter – and we’re good at it. We have to be.
Sterile technique is like driving – you can’t learn it by reading, you need to be practising it always.
While most contamination reports are statistically more likely to be down to beginner error, it’s not always the case.
Sometimes it may actually be us. Does that mean we don’t know what we are doing or that we’re rookies at this?
No. And here’s why.
We regularly purchase live gourmet mother spawn from one of, if not the largest, most accredited mycology business in the world.
This company is BIG and they even run week-long training courses in mycology and have the most incredible set up worth a fortune.
Even they make mistakes. We’ve had to get in touch with them a couple of times after receiving contaminated spawn.
The point we’re trying to make here is that even the masters of mycology mess up. Nature is unpredictable and we all make mistakes.
Although we don’t offer refunds on our products, we will send a voucher for it’s replacement.
Irregardless who is at fault.
A second chance on us 🙂

Hello again, im the guy who asked about the bulk substrate figures, just checking again how many 3100 boxes would the 2:1 ration fill?
- If I used this and added 2 litres of fine verm, 100grams of gypsum and 4 litres of water, how much spawn would I have to add to that for a 1:1 ratio. Also are these the correct amounts if so how many 3100sub boxes could I fill with this mixture.

A 1:1 ratio is rather high. But if that’s what you are looking to achieve then around 9 SpawnTubs or SpawnJars should do the trick. Though, you could skimp and do a more common 1:2 ratio and use just 5 SpawnTubs worth.

To grow Lions Mane, first of all you will need to look up the exact requirements of the species if you would like to perfect them. Our kits are introductory mycology kits, almost like a one size fits most.
If you would like very large flushes, you may wish to inject our rye grain spawn product before spawning it to a wood-based bulk substrate (we have all of the raw ingredients in our shop).
There's lots of easy to find information online about growing any gourmet species :)
