How Cylocybe started.

This is our original About Us, written back in December 2017 after buying the domain cylocybe.com and setting our first shop up on Shopify. We have kept it because it still says who we are.

Remember though, this was from a time when we couldn't find a single UK webshop offering these kinds of products - the only real way was to order from abroad! We had been selling on eBay for months, aaaand realised we needed our own webshop.

Times have changed since then - but let's just say we resuscitated a dormant UK scene that faded away in the years after the 2006 UK law changes around Psilocybin-containing mushrooms (which were previously legal to buy fresh)... What others didn't seem to realise was the UK was screaming out for a magic mushroom microscopy spore specialist instead.

And as cheesy as it sounds, the rest is history, many of our customers turned into competition as the popularity of our shop could not be denied. An entire thriving scene was born. We even turned down interviews with Vice magazine!

With a look through the Internet Archive / Wayback Machine, you can verify for yourselves the history of this UK scene and the special contribution Cylocybe had and still has for the tens of thousands of customers from around the UK and abroad 🙂
