How and when we ship
Shipping & Dispatch.
Everything you need to know about how and when your order leaves us, written plainly by the people who actually pack the parcels.
When we dispatch your order, they will send you tracking information by email.
If you won't be home on the day of delivery, you will have options of:

UK orders are sent on your choice of Economy or Express. Express is Royal Mail Tracked 24. Economy is 2nd Class (sometimes Tracked 48). For just microscopy-only orders, Economy is £1.95 and takes around 2-3 days. Express is £3.95 and is 1 day, tracked. For everything else, the flat rate is £3.95 and £5.95.
The delivery aims are not guaranteed by Royal Mail.
Various international shipping options will display at checkout.
Spore-only orders go out same day if payment is received before 1pm Monday to Friday, or you get a free spore syringe if we're late. Grow kit orders are dispatched in 0-3 working days when payment is received before 1pm Monday to Friday, or you get a free grow kit if we're late. Other products show their dispatch promise on their own product pages.
We let you know by email when it goes out. CyLabs and live cultures need longer - CyLabs 10-12 working days, cultures 15-20.
Our standard working days are Monday to Friday.
See our full list of non-dispatch dates.
If you ever want to check how many working days have passed since your order payment was confirmed, you can find this within the 'Your Orders' section of your Cylocybe account - you can even click on the number to see a breakdown of the days!
Dispatch
Our working days are Monday to Friday, counted from the point your order is confirmed as paid on our system - not from when you place the order.Regardless of the postage option you choose
We don't dispatch Express orders any quicker than Economy ones. When you choose your delivery option, you are paying for the speed and benefits of that particular delivery service - not our dispatch speed.Basically, buying off customers with 'sorry freebies' is how we like to roll when we mess up... and you won't need to remind us either, as we know every parcel we're late with - the computer likes to remind us.
However, if you're worried about dispatch, you can get in touch by using our contact form.
- Important emails being missed by customers - Orders can be held up on our system because there's been a mistake made when sending a payment to us or we notice that there's a mistake in your shipping address. We will always get in touch with you about issues, so please make sure to read every email from us!
- We are extremely busy or understaffed due to illness, etc. - Sometimes we just can't help being delayed with dispatch times. We will normally post on our homepage/top banner if there's a known issue effecting the dispatch of orders.
- Choosing Express at checkout is about the delivery speed once it leaves us, not the dispatch - as mentioned above, we don't prioritise orders by shipping method.
Please try your hardest not to make mistakes with your delivery address to avoid stress and delays. If a parcel comes back to us because the address was wrong or incomplete, we can send it out again - we will just ask you to cover the postage. If there's an issue you can't resolve yourself, get in touch.
We ship almost everywhere where it's legal for us to do so... you will see the available options at checkout.
Where we can, we calculate your own import fees at checkout and charge this to you so you don't have to deal with customs costs and extra delays - the parcels should just get to you without any fuss for a great experience (the price is higher initially, but you'd have to pay that price yourself anyway if you ordered from another shop which didn't charge you it at checkout and you'd have to go through the hassle of delays and paying it regardless).
For the USA and Germany the fees are included automatically. For most of Europe, plus Switzerland and Norway, you can tick "We pay your customs fees" at checkout. Everywhere else, any import charges on arrival are yours to cover.
If the parcel is blocked because of customs issues in your country, we cannot help with that - we apologise. That has only ever happened a few times in all of the years we've been running though. Customers are responsible for knowing the laws of their country before placing an order.
