Today we are proud to release the XL PF-Tek MycoBox Grow Kit.

You will notice the unique-looking grow box lid with six built-in self-healing rubber injection ports designed for super easy inoculation with a liquid culture syringe straight through and into the sterile brown rice flour-based substrate.

We spent a long time developing a brand new kind of commercial mushroom grow kit from top to bottom, imagining the kind of grow kit we wished was on the market when we first got into mushrooms, and then we built it. For reference, there are only a couple of online shops in the UK which provide a sterile mushroom grow kit but none like this! Grow kit innovation has been stagnant for nearly two decades. This makes the PF-Tek MycoBox Grow Kit one of the most modern, innovative, customer-friendly, all-in-one, sterile mushroom grow kits in the UK right now (and possibly the world).

This grow kit took a lot of trial and error to develop, first trying all sorts of different methods to make inoculation as simple as possible, trying RTV silicone glues, which weren't reliable enough (as well as too slow to be a commercial product). Then after hitting our heads off a brick wall and staring at a table full of cut-up syringes, washers, needles, bolts and silicone glues, we had the eureka moment of not using glue at all and doing something we've never seen anyone else doing - drilling a small hole and sourcing rubber stoppers for vials, squeezing them tight into the hole and letting that force and friction hold tight. At first, we simply didn't trust it would work because we hadn't seen a single person on the Shroomery or any other shop doing this, and it seemed "too simple", so we tested and tested and there was zero contamination after injecting it - just nice clean healthy mycelium every time.

If you have seen this same technique being used for any kind of lid, be it a mason jar lid or anything for mushroom growing - please let us know and we will provide you with a free grow kit as we have trawled the forums and the shops across the internet and we couldn't find a single instance of it. We don't want to claim something is ours when it isn't, but we are confident this solution is new.

We call this system Inject-Thru. As well as this, we have developed the grow kit to grow virtually any species of mushroom you want to inject, like Blue or Pink Oyster.

Other than Inject-Thru, we provide sterile gloves, perlite for humidity, humidity tent for fruiting as well as vermiculite for "Dunk 'n' Roll" technique. All of this is explained in the cultivation guide that comes with the grow kit.
