Monotub Kit (Multigrain Unicorn Spawn Bag + Substrate Kit)

It's a common misconception that a grain is more difficult for newcomers, don't believe it. We first started out with grain and had amazing results, and you will too.

This is a monotub kit and it comes with everything you need to grow a massive amount of mushrooms.

We won't provide you a guide with this grow kit, instead we'll do one better - we will link you to the very forum post this entire technique was born (we think it's a bit of history).

Unlike the post, this product here supplies you with injectable unicorn spawn bags as opposed to spawn jars or tubs. Our filling machine was custom designed to handle these bags, we even had it built with a computer so it can auto fill them them from a conveyor belt. We spent 5 digits on that filling machine. But if we are being real to you, unicorn bags drive us bonkers. We've seen them fail too many times that we kind of just gave up on them. Now we're sitting with around 32K of them we decided we are going to put a kit out that uses them - if people don't mind the higher failure rates on them, then we don't mind producing these.

• Rye Grain Spawn Substrate with added gypsum, ready to by inoculated by gourmet spores or culture
• Injection Ported and HEPA-Filtered for ultimate contamination resistance
• Basic Hygiene Kit includes non-sterile nitrile gloves, face mask, alcohol wipe(s), hand wipe
• 325g Coco Coir (half brick)
• 1L Vermiculite

Squeeze the colonised grain to break up the mycelium at around 50-60% if you want - this will help speed up growth by spreading the mycelium further afield.. but, just do it once or it may end up stalling!

Thoughts
One deviation we will tell you about that we discovered through expeimenting in 2021 for the release of our showstopper MonoBox Grow Kit - coir is all you need, you don't need verm, and it doesnt need a proper pasteurisation because coir and water microwaved for 10 mins is enough to kill what you need it to kill - healthy mycelium mixed in with the microwaved coir will outrun everything else unless you are doing something wrong - like temp issues or bad spawn. But we include it anyway for the purists.

Sterilising coir is COMPLETELY unnecessary for the monotub tek. And so is proper pasteurisation. We know this because we have been selling the MonoBox Grow Kit since 2021 and have had the same repeat customers coming back for it over and over again. Our filling machine rattles out multigrain SpawnTubs and coir substrate into MonoBoxes (see our youtube vids) for hours at a time just keep up demand for that product. So trust us - microwaving coir substrate is totally A-ok if you want to try it (we know better than anyone).
