Experience a problem with any product? Don’t panic!
Clean products are what we specialise in, it’s our bread and butter – and we’re good at it. We have to be.
Sterile technique is like driving – you can’t learn it by reading, you need to be practising it always.
While most contamination reports are statistically more likely to be down to beginner error, it’s not always the case.
Sometimes it may actually be us. Does that mean we don’t know what we are doing or that we’re rookies at this?
No. And here’s why.
We regularly purchase live gourmet mother spawn from one of, if not the largest, most accredited mycology business in the world.
This company is BIG and they even run week-long training courses in mycology and have the most incredible set up worth a fortune.
Even they make mistakes. We’ve had to get in touch with them a couple of times after receiving contaminated spawn.
The point we’re trying to make here is that even the masters of mycology mess up. Nature is unpredictable and we all make mistakes.
Although we don’t offer refunds on our products, we will send a voucher for it’s replacement.
Irregardless who is at fault.
A second chance on us 🙂

First impression counts
Nosey delivery drivers, flatmates, neighbours or work colleagues?
Your parcel will be sent in high quality, nondescript packaging; our website won’t be mentioned and there’s no tell-tale return address to worry about either.
Even for international orders made from outside of the UK, our customs declarations are barebones with descriptions such as ‘Microscopy Kit’ or ‘Gardening Supplies’, etc… We follow the rules whilst maintaining your privacy.
Planning to pay with Bank Transfer?
We will email you immediately after checkout, so be sure to read what it says.
Bank payments are what 90% of our customers use, we receive a lot of payments via bank and sometimes people do not appreciate that it’s impossible to know who has paid if you do not follow our instructions. Especially when many customers use names on their orders which don’t even match the names that bank transfers are coming from!
So, we created a better process for us to handle large volumes of bank transfers extremely efficiently.
Follow both simple steps for a happy, stress-free ordering experience at Cylocybe.
- Use your Order Number as the reference within your banking app.
Because it allows us to search for the payment in our bank. We literally type your order number in. Searching with names or amounts are completely useless. Order numbers are what we need.
- Then click on the ‘I Have Paid’ button within your account dashboard
It notifies us so we know to look for the payment you’ve sent. Think of it this way; if we get 500 orders in a day, but only 250 people actually follow through and send payment – that means that we’ve saved ourselves having to search our bank 250 times for payments that were never sent in the first place. The time savings for us are monumental which is handy when we are always rushed for time.
When we get a minute, we’ll verify the payment in our bank and start processing your order.

We'll try our best for tomorrow :)
thanks for answering my last question, but before you answered i ended up steam sterilising for 15 minutes after injecting my Liquid Culture solution into the vial, after taking it out and letting it cool down, i noticed the lid was warped and the LC leaked out, now my vial broken and rendered unusable, unless you guys sell the injectable lids on there own ? so the moral of the tory is i cant steam sterilise these vials, or is it that i can only do so with the lid off ?

Yes that was a bad move. At least it was just a vial and not a big pressure cooker which has nowhere to vent off, else you’d have a destroyed kitchen!
Steam sterilise the vials with or without the cap on. But never put liquid in them before sterilising.
Next week, we’ll make available vials filled with sterile LC solution.
could i steam sterilise ? and of so, for how long ? 2hrs?
