AgarPots Kit
The clean-culture starting point. Grow a spore or culture sample out on sterile agar, see exactly what is in it, then isolate pure white mycelium to take through to grain. This kit does not fruit mushrooms; it makes the clean culture everything after it depends on.

Where a kit fits
Growing gourmet mushrooms from scratch is a chain of sterile steps: culture, then spawn, then substrate, then fruiting. A grow kit collapses most of that chain into one prepared package, so you spend your effort on the part that actually changes the result, which is keeping things clean and giving the mushrooms the right conditions to fruit. The kits here are framed for edible gourmet species such as Oyster, Lion's Mane and Shiitake, and they range from a single small batch to a tub you can refill.
How the kits differ
The simplest options are the all-in-one kits you inject and fruit in the same vessel. MycoBox, MycoPots, MycDrop and InocuBox are inoculated through self-healing ports. The MycMonster and Letterbox Monster are bag kits, which are inoculated straight through the sterile bag and sealed with a sticker. The step up is the two-stage kits (MonoBox, MonoBag and the compact MiNO): you colonise grain spawn first, then mix it into a bulk substrate before fruiting, which is more hands-on and gives the biggest yields. At the lab end, the AgarPots kit isolates clean cultures on agar.
Picking yours
Two questions help you decide. How hands-on do you want to be? How much do you want to harvest? If this is your first grow, an all-in-one kit like MycoPots or a MycoBox will get you fruiting with the least fuss while you build up your knowledge and experience. If you have some grows behind you and want to learn new skills, move up to a MonoBox or MonoBag and achieve bigger harvests.
